Redo of Japanese cartoon to American verison

Posted on Saturday 12 August 2006

I just can’t believe what I saw - Sailor Moon in American verison. Not only they redraw the cartoon to be more western, but to add the live element. The transformed Sailor moons with super power to save the world are in cartoon to fight monsters. They go back to live (real people acting) when they turn back to normal innocent teenage girls. The main actor is of course caucasian, blond, and others are latin (maybe poor screen quality, she looks like a caveman), asian, and a red hair girl on wheelchair. Diversity for sure is. This show never made it to the TV screen.

But … It seems that the US is thinking to make a movie version with famous faces. I guess go bigger or go home. I won’t pay to go see the film, but I think it will be amusing to see how it will turn out.

They … uh … axed this, right? I mean, during the screening, they must have heard all the laughter and ridicule, and someone in their right mind said, “Oh, maybe it’s not going to work. We should stop this.” Right?

haha .. the TV version is bad, and I haven’t seen the show on TV .. so I guess it got axed. I assume you hear the theme song as well, besides the laughter. Maybe with good director and big budget, they make a good movie with Lindsay Lohan as sailor moom. Bigger sail boat?!?! I thought guys may like it =p you tell me?!?
