Music that touches you

Posted on Friday 25 August 2006

I don’t know much about music. I never spend the time trying to remember the name of the song or the artist’s name I just listened. I just enjoyed the moment. I can’t claim that I am a big fan of classical music, but the few times that got me excited was at the live performance of classical music. I like the focus, the passion, the skill and the talent that the musicians put in. Yesterday, I found the TED site showing some of their great talks, and they are VERY inspiring. There is one, I like very much, a 14 years old girl who composed a music piece right on the spot by a volunteer picked 5 musical notes for her to “come up with something”. Five simple ordinary notes transformed to a complex beautiful piano piece just took my breath. It is not only I heard the wonderful music, but I also witnessed the transformation. I wish that I could be there to feel the music in the air and the excitment from the crowd. Only later I know after I watched the video the fourth time, after google search a little, the composing part was the part of the magical moments of the 2004 TED conference.
