Retro has been big in the past few years, and it is still going strong. Design ideas from both interior and fashion are often recycled, but there is always a twist to make things more suitable for today - the modern world. Green and brown are two popular colours in interiors for couple years already, and they were used in the project I recently completed. This site tells me “green” & “brown” were popular in 1974 as well … but oh boy, they aren’t the same colours I have in mind. They aren’t calming but shocking. In addition, the styles of photography / fashion / interior design back then are “interesting”. I don’t know what I will think 30 years later looking back to my today’s projects which I am now very proud of.

We are a young couple trying our best to build a small sustainable, green and eco-friendly home in the downtown core of oil city Calgary, Canada. We are also blogging our way through the whole experience! It may be an eco-friendly home, but we want it to look the best that it can.
We are now at the stage where we have to start thinking about interior design choices. This includes our own research looking through stacks of decorators catalog and talking to interior design professionals in calgary. Your site has definitely given us some helpful advice.
