Courtney & Chris’s wedding was beautiful and lots of fun =) Kevin posted the pictures. I am sure those pictures said lots already, but yet there were many beautiful moments that pictures couldn’t have been able to capture.
Wedding vow is always beautiful. I could feel their love to each other is very strong, no doubt and so pure. The couple looked at each other, exchanged their vows, with many blessing from their family and friends - that moment belonged to them. The most interesting and unusual moment at the ceremony, and I am sure many of us would agree is when Chris took out his camera from his jacket and took a picture of Courtney walking down the isle toward him. Everyone laughed.
After the beautiful ceremony, we all went to the reception. The reception was taken place at an atrium â high ceiling with water fountain in the middle. Water came down from high ceiling (4 to 5 stories high) like rain into the fountain. I guess SF doesnât get much rain. Tables are surrounded the fountain. I really like the setting.
Another nice touch I found was how each table had a name to it (both Chinese & English), and not just only the number. We had tradition Chinese cuisine at the banquet. The food was very good. The speeches that were given from the parents, maid of honour and the best man were all very sweet.
There were patriotic moment that I never thought I would find in wedding. Chris & Courtneyâs wedding made us very proud of whom we are - Texan or Canadian. Courtney, Texan girl, with her family and friends got to the front and sang âEyes of Texasâ. After the proud Texans, Chris and all the Canadians just couldnât sit back. We stepped up and proudly sang âO Canadaâ and later, we danced along the very Canadian song - âHome for a Restâ by Spirit of the West. I wonder if anyone took pictures of our silly Canadian dancing. Kevin and I had so much fun doing that dance. After the dance, Kevin & I did the âSpeaker Cornerâ thing, which was another great idea for guests to leave a message for the couple. I didnât feel that Kev & I did a great job. I got very nervous in front of the camera. I know I giggled through out the recording.
At the very end, all of us went outside with few sparklers in our hands, formed two lines to create a path, lighted up the sparklers and the newly wedded couple walked through us. It was funny that we were searching for fire to light up the sparklers and the sparklers created lots of smoke. It was all fun, even though the scene was a little smoky than I was hoping for.
Chris & Courtney, you two are such wonderful couple. Thank you so much for inviting me to your wedding. You both gave me a wonderful time in SF, first starting with the Canada day party, and your beautiful wedding. I hope to see you both again in the near future.
