Experience the night life in Hong Kong

Posted on Saturday 30 April 2005

Last night Kevin & I were invited to his friend - Florrie & Tony’s wedding banquet. It was a fun evening at a beautiful club in Repulse Bay. We first had our cocktail at a green lawn (rare item in Hong Kong) before we started dinner. The food was delicious. We also had live music =) After the banquet, a bus was arranged to take people to Lan Kwai Fong to continue the party. We were there until 2am. I have been to Lan Kwai Fong many times at this trip during the day time while I was helping at Kevin’s mom’s art studio in the area, but I was never there to experience the night life that they were famous for. Last night was hot and humid. I feel bad for all the guys who wore suit, but I think we all had a great evening.

The wedding banquet is different than the others that I’ve been to. Last night was their 2nd part of the banquet to celebrate with their friends. The first part was the night before with the family. I thought it is a great way to do it; have parties for the specific groups - family & friends. I often see wedding isn’t for the couple only, but it is also for the parents. The parents wants to celebrate as well with their friends and family. This way, the two different groups got well taken care of.

I felt pretty that evening, because it was my first time with proper make up on done by Kammy =) She also helped me to choose the dress and loan her necklace to me. I was very happy that I have a great girlfriend =)

I love when weddings are separated out for family and friends. I remember I was at a wedding where the friends really got out of hand. Some of the family were really upset that some folks got really drunk and obnoxious…and I thin LKF was a great place for post-party bash…I miss HK.
