On Christmas Eve morning, it was dumping snow, and it took me over an hour to get to work because of Skytrain delays. When I got to work, they told me that anyone that tried to but couldn't get to work would get paid for the day (and then it's customary to get the afternoon off anyway). So after getting frustrated about *getting* to work, I didn't even stay that long! But your story still takes the cake.
